Below are resources which are available to students and/or their families.
Services for students with disabilities at the college level
If you are a student with a learning disability and had an IEP throughout your high school years, a continuation of services will be offered to you if you make that request at the college level. Most college campuses have disability services but it is the responsibility of the student to provide the necessary documentation proving the disability and the need for accommodations, services, and/or auxiliary aids.
If you have a disability:
· Introduce yourself to the disability support services office
· Know how your disability affects your learning and what strategies have proven successful for you
· Share information with your professors about how your disability may affect your learning. You don’t need to identify your disability to discuss your functional limitations and appropriate accommodations
· Seek, as needed, other academic assistance early in the semester, such as tutoring
· Accept responsibility for arranging for testing accommodations if needed
